  • About the role

    The Compliance Officer position is a new role that has been established to reinforce the firm's growing emphasis on all aspects of quality and process, as it grows and becomes more globally connected.

    Adherence to the relevant legislation and our own internal policies is of increasing importance to the firm's ability to deliver and should be a key differentiator. Recent changes in legislation (GDPR) and more to follow lead, us to believe the Search industry will become more regulated. Acting as a leader in this space is therefore important and this role will play a key part in that.

    Reporting to the Head of Information and Knowledge Management, the job-holder will review, design, implement and execute the firm's processes for ensuring robust adherence to all the necessary legislation and the firm's own policies. The successful post-holder will be able not just to implement best practice but will also be able to work closely with key stake-holders in the business to ensure compliance.

    Responsibilities

    • Design and conduct regular internal audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed
    • Identify specific compliance issues where they arise that require follow-up or investigation. Where appropriate, conduct the internal investigation of these issues
    • Assess key areas of compliance and develop practical risk management strategies
    • Design and disseminate written policies and procedures related to compliance activities
    • Act as a confidential point of contact for employees to communicate with management, seek clarification on issues or dilemmas, or report irregularities.
    • Maintain documentation of regular compliance activities, such as complaints received or investigation outcomes
    • Identify and discuss emerging compliance issues with relevant stake-holders
    • Design or implement improvements in communication, monitoring, or enforcement of compliance standards
    • Verify that all firm and regulatory policies and procedures have been documented, implemented, and communicated
